I build the systems a country has to be able to trust.
For more than 25 years I have designed, built and tested software where a mistake has real consequences. National identity for 100 million people. Vehicle registration and license plates in four countries. Encrypted communications for enterprises and governments. Today, AI agents that work under supervision.
Each dot is one million people. Bangladesh's national ID covers a hundred of them.
- 100M+citizen records in Bangladesh's national ID systems
- 4countries: Bangladesh, Nepal, Tajikistan, Moldova
- 10M+downloads of the national ID app with face verification (Google Play, October 2026)
- 25+years, and still writing code
Work out what the system has to guarantee, and to whom, before choosing any technology.
Software, hardware, logistics and the people who run it, as one design.
I stay hands-on: I write code alongside small expert teams, and see the system through testing, deployment and operation.
National identity · Bangladesh
One person, one identity, for 100 million people.
Bangladesh's national ID holds the fingerprints and photographs of more than 100 million citizens. I architected the system that produces the smart cards and the services the country uses to check them.
1Every new fingerprint is searched against 100 million others, to catch anyone already enrolled.
2Cards are personalized on an automated line: ten printers, each producing 1,000 cards an hour.
3A bank, a mobile operator or the passport office asks who someone is. The answer comes back in real time.
- My role
- Solution architect and project owner for the smart card system and the verification services, and framework developer on the smart cards.
- What it took
- Automated data preparation, printing, quality checks, packaging and delivery tracking. The verification platform was rebuilt on open-source software to reduce dependence on a single vendor.
- Used by
- Mobile operators, banks, mobile wallets, the passport office and other government bodies.
Face verification · Bangladesh · 2020
Your face is the password.
Citizens open their national ID account by looking at their phone. The app matches a selfie to the photograph on record and checks that a live person is in front of the camera.
1A selfie is matched to the photograph on record, even one taken in 2007.
2A photo of a photo is not enough. The app checks for a live person.
- My role
- Solution architect and project owner.
- Scale
- NID Wallet on Google Play: 10M+ downloads and 1.07 million reviews, rated 4.1 (October 2026). Built to run on low-cost phones.

Vehicles · Bangladesh · from 2012
A license plate that can be read on the road.
3.3 million vehicles in Bangladesh carry plates and radio tags made on an automated line I led the design of, where ordering, checking and quality control are automatic. The same tags let police see a vehicle pass a checkpoint.
1A plate is ordered, made, checked and boxed on an automated line.
2At the gates into Dhaka, the tag on a vehicle is read as it passes and the control room sees it.
- My role
- Solution architect, framework developer and project owner. I also wrote the software kit for the tag readers and the tracking server.
- Patent
- Co-inventor, US patent application 2016/0203379 A1, on automated verification and quality control of vehicle plates (filed 2015, not pursued to grant).
Tajikistan · Nepal · Moldova
The same systems, built for three more countries.
From 2014 I took the identity and vehicle platforms abroad: driving licenses and vehicle registration in Tajikistan, license plates in Moldova, vehicle registration and plates in Nepal. The enrollment software was designed to work offline first, for offices where the network cannot be relied on.
1A district office with no connection keeps working. Fingerprints and photographs are stored on site.
2When a link is available, the records sync to the data center without anyone re-entering them.
3In Tajikistan's driving exam rooms any PC can act as the server. If it stops, another takes over at a keystroke, with no expert on site.
- My role
- Solution architect and project owner in all three countries, and framework developer for Tajikistan.

Vehicle registration and license plates. Biometric enrollment of owners, plates with radio tags, packaging and delivery tracking, and a text message when a plate is ready. Built for 2.5 million vehicles.
Moldova
2014
License plates. Plate personalization, radio tags, inventory, packaging and delivery tracking. 1.5 million plates.
Video intelligence · iVip
Ask the footage a question.
iVip turns days of camera footage into something you can search. An investigator types what they are looking for and gets the moments that match, even when no alert was set beforehand.
1Days of footage from many cameras are indexed: what was seen, where and when.
2Ask in plain language. The moments that match come back.
- My role
- I led applied AI and computer vision at TigerIT, including iVip.
- It reads
- License plates, vehicle make, model and color, faces, movement, and speech with who said what. Search by text or by image.
- Related
- Smart parking, access control with face recognition, and traffic violation detection.
Encrypted communications · CommChat · 2021 to 2026
Messages only the two ends can read.
CommChat is a communications platform for enterprises and governments: end-to-end-encrypted messaging, encrypted calls and video meetings, and secure file sharing. As Head of Technology I led its architecture and build across desktop, mobile and browser.
1A message is locked on the sender's device and unlocked only on the recipient's. The server in between cannot read it.
2The whole platform can run on an organization's own servers.
3Encrypted video meetings of up to 50 people, with screen sharing, joined from a browser with nothing to install.
- My role
- Head of Technology: product thinking, architecture, implementation, testing and deployment.
- Built for
- Poor and unreliable networks. It works offline and repairs its history when the connection returns. Calls and meetings run on a self-managed WebRTC stack.
- Runs
- On an organization's own servers or in the cloud, with single sign-on, role-based access, audit logging and native Arabic.

Virtual worlds · Blenzy · 2020 to 2026
A virtual world people build together.
Blenzy began in 2020 as a world that people build together from blocks. It grew into CommChat Metaverse: avatars, worlds joined by portals, and voice that comes from where each person stands, on phones, computers and browsers.
1People build a world together from blocks, each seeing the other's changes as they happen.
2Voice is spatial: you hear each person from where their avatar stands.
3Portals lead from one world to the next: a meeting room, a classroom, an event.
- My role
- Solution architect and project owner.
- Today
- Published as CommChat Metaverse for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and the web, and linked to CommChat's meetings.

Children · KinderMate · 2016 to 2026
Screen time a parent can trust.
I conceived KinderMate and led its development. It began as a way for children to discover videos, articles and games that had been screened for them. Today it is a learning platform for ages 3 to 12 with an AI learning companion, and no advertising.
1Content is screened before it reaches a child. Advertising and unsuitable items are left out.
2An AI companion answers the child's questions and turns curiosity into lessons.
- My role
- Head of Technology from 2016 to 2026: product and technical architecture.
- Under it
- Language understanding, search and recommendation, automated content discovery, live curation, conversation, and safety controls. Reviewed for compliance with COPPA, the US children's privacy law.

Health · Panacea · 2019
A medical record that needs no papers.
Doctors visit rural health camps and then leave, and nobody follows up. Many patients cannot give a name or a date of birth the same way twice, so their records are hard to find again. Panacea, built at TigerIT, found a patient's record from a photograph and let a doctor anywhere continue the care by video.
1Many patients cannot give a name or a date of birth the same way twice. A photograph finds the record.
2After the camp, a doctor in Dhaka follows up by video with the patient's family in Jamalpur and updates the prescription.
3At the next camp any doctor can take a picture and pull up the whole history.
- My role
- Solution architect and project owner at TigerIT. I led the nine-member team of health technology researchers, physicians and a psychologist that ran the trial.
- Trial
- Free health camps in Jamalpur in November 2019, organized by TigerIT and its foundation. At one trial camp the team served 110 people.
- In it
- Registration with a place in the queue, records found by face, video consultation, prescriptions, a drug directory, and a kit of devices with its own Wi-Fi for places without infrastructure.
Health · COVID-19 · 2020
A ventilator prototype from local parts, in the first weeks of COVID-19.
In April 2020 I led the TigerIT team that built a prototype of a low-cost, non-invasive mechanical ventilator from materials available in Bangladesh, at an estimated production cost of BDT 15,000 to 20,000 a unit. Its design follows a concept from MIT.
Now · Recur Systems
An AI agent that works under supervision.
In 2026 I founded Recur Systems to license Recur Agent, an AI agent platform I designed and built. It gets real work done across a company's own tools, on the company's own infrastructure, with the AI model the company chooses, and what it sends is checked before it leaves.
Visit recur.ag1One request in plain words. The AI agent works across the company's own tools and comes back with an answer and a draft.
2By default, what it would send is checked before it leaves, by you or by a separate reviewer. What the reviewer questions is held for your approval. Its actions are logged with the time.
3It runs on the company's own infrastructure, with the AI model the company chooses: a cloud model on its own key, or an open model on its own hardware.
